Tiliva Resort

Tiliva Resort has six deluxe garden bures all with ocean views. This remote eco resort is set in 18 acres of lush tropical gardens with its own secluded beachfront having magnificent views across the bay to the island of Ono.

Our kitchen garden provides us with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables which are organically grown. Kemu cares for the garden daily (amongst other things), he grows cassava, dalo, pineapples, mangoes, eggplant, cabbage, rourou, chilies, capsicum, water melons and fresh herbs to name but a few.

Guests can enjoy the freshly picked tropical fruit and native vegetables from our kitchen garden and from the gardens in the village. This, coupled with fresh fish and local delicacies we offer the finest of western and Fijian cuisine, and all served with a big Fijian smile. There is a well stocked bar with cold beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. All meals (cooked breakfast, lunch and three course dinner) are included in the cost of your stay.

Diving is suitable for all from the advanced to the novice. There are no crowds - it is not unusual to be the only dive boat out on the reef so there is room for everyone to enjoy The Great Astrolabe Reef.

There are drift dives, swim throughs, soft and hard coral, sea fans which are brilliantly coloured and a multitude of marine life waiting to be seen.

We normally do a two tank dive in the mornings a further dive can be arranged for the afternoon for the keen and energetic diver.

Our hosts greeted us warmly at the jetty. Both Kit and I were still jetlagged and slightly overwhelmed at the welcome. A small kava ceremony was given to us and after a brief tour and chat we made our way to dress for dinner.

Populations of large marine predators such as sharks are in dangerous decline. Recent scientific studies report declines of up to 99% for several shark species such as the oceanic whitetip shark in the Gulf of Mexico. Studies also indicate that the reduction in number of larger coastal species such as bull, hammerhead, and tiger sharks may be as high as 80% in the Atlantic Ocean.
