Ingham

Wallaman Falls

Ingham is located in the heart of the tropics. It is the southern gateway to the Wet Tropics World Heritage-listed rainforests of Tropical North Queensland. West of Ingham is Australia's highest sheer drop waterfall, Wallaman Falls, at 305 metres. There are a 6 recreational National Parks, State Forests and Islands in the area. The parks and State Forests offer decent tracks for bushwalking and camping with beautiful swimming holes and waterfalls. The Australian Italian Festival is held each year around May. Ingham is also close to the gateway to Hinchinbrook Channel at Lucinda.

Lying just south of Hinchinbrook Island, the Palm Group is made up of over 12 islands including Orpheus, Pelorus, Fantome, Curacoa and Great Palm. Only 2 islands are permanently inhabited. This island chain delights its visitors with crystal clear waters and soft sandy swimming beaches. The islands are spectacularly beautiful. Lush rainforest, gorgeous beaches, aboriginal culture, spectacular coral reefs and fascinating historic ruins make this one of Australia's most exciting sailing holiday destinations.
