Here's an update on the GNS:

Seaworld and Marine parks are going out tomorrow - Seaworld asked me to film it but unfortunately won't have time to go.

The GNS was around all last week so they should be able to find it.

The plan is to try and remove the metal bar, failing that, euthanize the shark (which is a bit sad!).

Excellent news flash !

Seaworld and Marine Parks crew went out this morning and managed to rescue the shark.

Apparently it was a quite full on experience but all limbs are still on everybody and another shark saved.

The shark was captured and pulled into a large tank on the boat and the 4ft fishing gaff was extracted.

The happy gaff-less grey nurse was then tagged and released and we hope she will live a long and happy life and give birth to plenty of baby nurses !

Thats great news that the shark was saved in a safe way! Lets just hope thaat the media display the story in favour of the shark and not against it!

Great news on the Grey Nurse Shark story !

Apparently the Department of Fisheries is saying that the transmitter has been recovered and a full press release will be issued soon through Seaworld of the Gold Coast.

That means most likely that the transmitter has released itself as it should after a certain period (was quoted as 90 days) and the shark is alive and well.

Will be exciting to see the data of where she went over the last 5 months !
